The final stage is your recovery at home.
You may receive visits or telephone calls from nurses,
physiotherapists, or other community health staff. You may also be
asked to visit an outpatient clinic to check your progress.
Your GP will have been informed of the surgical outcome, and
some of the subsequent healthcare visits you receive may be
provided through Primary Care (GP or district nurses) rather than
through your hospital department.
If you need a hospital appointment post-operatively, you may be
given the date before you go home or it may be sent out to you at
home in the days following your surgery.
Don't forget to rest! You may well be more tired than you
expect.
